(Woodland, CA) – For the November 5, 2024, General Election, all write-in candidates for county, state, and federal offices must submit a statement of write-in candidacy and nomination papers (if applicable). Prospective write-in candidates should note that write-in candidacy is possible only if the office appears on the ballot.
The write-in candidacy nomination period begins Monday, September 9, 2024, and ends Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Yolo County candidates that wish to run for school district office can schedule an appointment online using our scheduling system: https://yolocountyace.as.me/schedule.php or by calling the Yolo County Elections Office at (530) 666‑8133. Candidates for city offices may obtain and file their write-in nomination papers at the city clerk’s office where they live. Candidates for Presidential Elector and Alternate Presidential Elector may file Declarations of Write-In Candidacy at the Secretary of State’s office or the county elections office where they live.
